January 1st is always a busy day for us. This is the day we have our Family Christmas. During the years of trying to juggle where we will be, it became easier for us to get together on News Years Day. We get up early and have breakfast and then it is time to open gifts. The little ones can't wait. After the gift opening it is time for lunch and then more family members come. Football games are always a hit to watch. The ones that don't watch football, either play games or visit with each other. Dinner is started around 4:00. Our menu for the day is: Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Corn, Gravy, Rolls, Black Eye Peas and numerous desserts. No one leaves hungry! After dinner we have coffee and enjoy each others company. Some family members have to leave some get to stay. It is a great day for all of us and a day that that is filled with laugher and memories.
